Priceless

There are some things in a day that are truly priceless and this one I had to share. With the numerous cameras around the house, My daughter Anna has taken to some of them and pretends to be a photographer. Yesterday morning she brought up her toy camera and asked, "Mom, can I need some female for my camera." With a chuckle I thought to myself every camera needs a little female in it!

LOL
have a good one!

Tribute & farewell to my Uncle Buster

This photo was taken a couple of years back with one of my favorite cameras, the Holga. It is of my Uncle Buster at the entrance of his barn. I can only imagine now what his thoughts were when I showed up with this plastic camera and asked him to stand there.

An incredible story was passed on this evening about the passing of my Uncle Buster this past week.

Uncle Buster & Aunt Dorothy have been a special part of my life. As a child,
growing up in Montreal, I would visit their farm. I loved everything about those visits and now the trips mean so much more to me as an adult.

On every visit, there was always a special dog by Uncle Buster's side. They would greet me at the gates, herd me back to the farm house when I ventured too close to the creek in the back fields and protect Uncle Buster's cows from the darkest of night's noises. There was always a special dog......

During the funeral of uncle Bus, my Aunt Dorothy was sitting on a chair in a cemetery surrounded by fields of cows and farmers crops. Just open fields and not much else but the cemetery. Out of no-where, comes along a beautiful blonde lab and sits by her side and raises his paw on to her lap. And since Uncle Bus' funeral, this beautiful dog has not left her side. No one knows where he came from, none of the neighbours have seen this dog before....he just appeared.

Incredible, yet so true and so believable.....I leave you with this.....

"Noble and True, the dog will fight to mend all that is unjust, a loyal and faithful friend dogs make any sacrifice for the sake of another, they never abandon their post, a genuine listener and confidant, the dog is keeper of all secrets." ~Year of the Dog

Professional Photographers of Ontario seminar

Great Speaker.....Great Seminar!

I never like to wish away my life, but I have to admit I was very excited and was really wishing away the month of September for a seminar with American photographer Vicki Taufer.

All I can say is that this past Sunday's seminar with Vicki was probably one of the most important seminars that I could have attended in my career as a photographer yet. Put on the Professional Photographers Association in Hamilton, Vicki spoke to a packed room of photographers from some many different backgrounds and fields, yet she was able to speak to us on every level. Her ideas are simply brilliant, intuitive and very achievable.

I encourage you to visit Vicki's site and feed yourself some eye candy! www.Vgallery.net

Totally inspired,
Sue

Keep Posted ........

Keep coming back to our new blog to see some ongoing photography projects like "4 One Year". This year long project allows Suzanne to document you and your family over the course of a full year. With four photo sessions designed into a beautifully crafted professionally bound hard covered coffee table book, you can have an keepsake that lasts for generations.

The ideas are endless: from maternity to your one year old child, a brand new puppy to a one year old giant great dane! Or maybe just watching your family grow throughout the year. The ideas and combinations are endless with imagination!

Or you may just see some wedding images from the day before! It was a beautiful day for Stephanie & Guillaume this past September. We had a ton of fun at the Cumberland Pioneer Village and this incredibly fashionable wedding party!

NEW! The Book Club
Featuring pages from the books of clients photo sessions with Suzanne. This will be a sneak peak for those who are waiting for their books to arrive and a sneak peak for those who are wondering what Suzanne's books look like! Featured in his very own book is Owen! Photographer Suzanne had fantastic time capturing great moments throughout Owen's first year of life. From his mom's maternity photo session, newborn, 6 month and then his first birthday party, Owen's book turned out to be an incredible timeline for his parents to keep forever.

What a summer!

After a fantastic summer we have created a new blog for all of our two legged photo sessions! Already known as Ottawa's URBAN dog photog, we wanted to show the other side of our business and our keen eye for capturing real life moments of people too.

To start off this new blog we had to post a photo from our trip to Las Vegas during a fantastic course with one of the World's top wedding photographers Bambi Cantrell. Bambi is an inspiration and her course at WPPI this past spring was a great career booster. The photo of this model was a favorite of ours from the two day course. Bambi's ability to teach photographers how to see and visualize past the ordinary is exceptional. Keep posted to see sessions from our weddings, engagement sessions and bébé's too !

cheers,
